What's an OC?

Modern OCs are single-hull canoes with an outrigger that lends stability to the craft.

Common crafts in racing are the OC1, OC2, and OC6, manned by 1, 2, or 6 paddlers, respectively.

Outrigger racing organizations in the United States include the East Coast Outrigger Racing Association (ECORA), the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association (HCRA), the Northern California Outrigger Canoe Association (NCOCA), the Southern California Outrigger Canoe Association (SCORA), and several more

See Charleston from a different perspective!

Paddling out of Brittlebank Park, we take short and long paddles up and down the Ashley, out around the harbor, or out to the beach.  Our shorter sessions let you work on your stroke technique, while our longer sessions will help you build endurance.

Looking for a little competition?

Our club members compete individually in OC events around the region. Paddlers build and captain their own crews, except for a board sponsored race. Come train with us!  We'll help you get race-ready.  Then, when you are, we can help you find a race that works for you and your crew.

Our outrigger paddle sessions will always indicate what the goals are:  some sessions will be easy paddles designed for all skill levels, some will be longer, more challenging  sessions.  Please know what you are signing up for!  The steersperson is in charge of the crew and may reassign seats, if needed.
