Our club is member-driven. Members* in good standing can look for upcoming races and, with Board approval, organize teams, utilize assets, and participate in competitions under the CPC name.
​Below is a link to various Event Calendars if you are looking for race opportunities.
* An Associate Membership is available for individuals who have assisted in furthering the purpose of the Charleston Paddle Club and are interested in participating in a competitive event with the following conditions. Please email charlestonpaddleclub@gmail.com for details.

a. The crew of any race or event be it local, regional, national, or international shall consist of no more than 1 Associate Member for the OC-6
b. The crew of any race or event be it local, regional, national, or international shall consist of no more than 2 Associate Members for a 10-man dragon boat.
c. The crew of any race or event be it local, regional, national, or international shall consist of no more than 4 Associate Members for a 20-man dragon boat.

Dragon Boat Races:

Sat. Sept 13th - Carolina Beach Regatta, Wilmington, NC.

We know this is last minute for planning, but we have been challenged by Charlotte Chaos to race in this fun event. 10pp boats, looking to put a mixed team together at the minimum but Charlotte would love to see a men's team from us as well. Sign up on MeetUP ASAP if interested.

Sat. Sept 17th - Peachtree Dragon Boat Festival - Atlanta, GA.
We are planning on having 2 teams go to this race. If you haven't already signed up on MeetUp, please do so asap so the coaches can plan accordingly. 10pp boats for this race as well.
Sat. Nov 1st - Lake Hernando Dragon Boat Festival
This is Florida's largest festival. We are hoping to have 2 teams for this race as well. Please sign up if you haven't done so yet.

A sold-out paddleboard/kayak race 31miles through the Tennessee River Gorge.

This was a huge success for us in June and we are, once again, going to participate in September. We would love to have more volunteers to promote the club and recruit. It was a lot of fun and we had a few great "salespeople" out there last time (Thanks Melissa and Scott!) Please sign up on MeetUp if you can help out for an hour or so.

Fall Fundraiser
Sunday October 4th, 2-5pm.
We will be having our annual fundraiser at the Rickhouse at Cannon Distillery on James Island. Jig & Jones will once again be performing. We need your help though in order to make this a successful event! Donations are required for the silent auction. If you own or know of anyone who owns or works at a business that will be willing to donate, please reach out to them. We are looking for anything - gift certificates, household goods, sporting goods, airbnbn experiences, etc! We raised a good amount of money last year in 2 short weeks - let's beat our $$ from last year! Marketing and donation letters will be coming out shortly but it is already on MeetUp and a Facebook Event page has been formed.
