The Charleston Paddle Club is passionate about paddling sports, physical fitness, fun & keeping our waterways clean! Through the paddling sports we offer, you’ll develop a greater respect and love for Charleston, SC beaches and waterways, get in great shape, and make new friends!! We welcome members of ALL AGES and SKILL LEVELS, and we especially love introducing this rapidly growing sport to the people of the Lowcountry! Whether you have been paddling for years or have never stepped foot in a boat, come out and join us! We promise you'll have fun!
ABOUT US
We are a local non-profit group (501(c)3) located in Charleston, South Carolina that is passionate about paddle sports, physical fitness, fellowship and protecting our waterways. Our regular events include weekly dragon boat team practices, outrigger canoeing, and various social and volunteer events throughout the year. Members of our amateur sports team, the Charleston Firebreathers, compete nationally in dragon boating events and internationally by representing Team USA.

WHAT ARE CLUB MEMBERSHIP FEES?
The standard yearly fee for club membership is $175. This fee goes toward operating costs, maintenance costs, equipment purchases, and training opportunities and facilities for our members. There are prorated fees if you join later in the season.

CAN I TRY IT OUT FIRST?
ABSOLUTELY!! Join us for Beginner Paddler Practice up to three times before you are expected to pay dues. At Beginner Practice you will learn the dragon boat stroke and commands. Once you become a CPC member, you can be incorporated into the team's regular open practices. Practices occur 3 times a week through out the paddling season and as weather permits during the winter.
WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP INCLUDE?
Access to all dragon boat practices, opportunities to paddle in OC-6 and SUP events, opportunities to race competitively, and invitations to all team social events. As a not-for-profit organization, we also participate in efforts to keep our waterways clean.
